Andrea Cabrera Luna
Andrea Cabrera Luna is the Artistic Director of Anahat Theatre, a Scotland-based company whose work blends mime, science, dance, and performance, often rooted in the absurd. Originally from Puebla, Mexico, Andrea is a director, performer, and facilitator committed to inclusive and collaborative creation. She engages both professional and non-professional performers.
Andrea’s work draws on a solid background in classical theatre, which she now uses as a springboard for reinterpretations and contemporary performance practices. Her interest in blending the old with the new informs her approach to both devised work and text-based productions.
She was recently selected as Imaginate’s Launchpad Artist — a prestigious position awarded to one early-career artist creating innovative work for young audiences in Scotland. She has also participated in the Lyceum Edinburgh’s L21 programme and is a Soho Writers Lab alum.
Andrea earned a BA in English and a BA in Acting in Mexico City, and holds an MA in Performance and Culturefrom Goldsmiths, University of London. She trained as a Director at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), Glasgow.
